We are fundraising to address the urgent need for healing in America!
In a world where hatred, violence and human rights abuses are rampant, the work to build more peaceful and just societies is urgent. Healing of Memories methodology was developed at the Center for Victims of Violence and Torture in Cape Town, South Africa. It was created to work along-side the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, to bring healing to all South Africans so that they could start to build a new democratic future. It is deep, transformational work, in collective trauma healing, and aids individuals reconcile with themselves and others. It is foundational to building peace and social justice. It also, breaks the cycle of intergenerational trauma that feeds hatred, wars, and violence. When individuals, communities, and nations see themselves and each other in a new way, recognizing our shared humanity, they change how they interact with the world around them and feel empowered to create a more peaceful and just future.
